Caring For Your Cardinal Knife
Daily Care
- Hand wash with warm water and mild soap (recommended)
- Dishwasher safe – place in utensil basket with blade facing down
- Dry completely before storing
- Store in the provided safety guard
What Not To Cut
- Frozen foods
- Bones or dense cartilage
- Hard materials (coconut shells, thick squash stems, etc.)
- Non-food items
For Your Safety
- Always use the safety guard when storing in a drawer or transporting
- Keep out of reach of children
- Cut away from your body and keep fingers clear of the blade
- Store securely to prevent accidents
What Sole Cookware Is Not Responsible For
Damage from improper use or care
- Rust, corrosion, or staining from improper storage (leaving in sink or soaking)
- Chips, cracks, breaks, or bent tips from dropping, misuse, or cutting inappropriate materials
- Blade damage from cutting on hard surfaces (glass, granite, marble, ceramic, metal)
- Damage from cutting frozen foods, bones, or other hard materials
- Dulling of the blade from normal use
- Damage from prying, twisting, or using the knife for non-culinary purposes
Normal wear and aesthetic changes
- Dulling of the blade over time (sharpness diminishes with use)
- Minor scratches, patina, or discoloration on the blade
- Natural wear on handle materials
- Slight variations in appearance between knives (handcrafted products naturally vary)
Accidents and misuse
- Personal injury resulting from improper handling, storage, or use
- Property damage
- Accidental damage from dropping, impacts, or mishandling
- Modifications or alterations not authorized by Sole Cookware
Consequential damages
- Lost time, ingredients, or meals
- Indirect or incidental damages of any kind
- Any damages exceeding the original purchase price of the knife
Limitations
Maximum Liability:
In no event will Sole Cookware's liability exceed the original purchase price paid for the knife.
No Consequential Damages:
Sole Cookware is not liable for personal injury, property damage, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Cardinal knife.
Assumption of Risk:
By using the Cardinal knife, you acknowledge that knives are inherently sharp tools and you assume all risk associated with their use.
Your Responsibility
As the owner of a Cardinal knife, you are responsible for:
- Following all care instructions provided
- Using the knife safely and appropriately
- Storing the knife securely (with safety guard or in proper knife storage)
- Keeping the knife out of reach of children
- Inspecting the knife regularly and discontinuing use if damaged
