The Sole Promise: Forever Sharp. Never a dull moment guarantee.

All Sole knives are backed by Forever Sharp. When your blade dulls, we send you a replacement and include the packaging to return your old one. No sharpening, no honing, no mailing your knife away for weeks. No waiting for a sharp knife.

Most chef's knife handles are one-size-fits-all, which means they fit almost no one. The Cardinal was designed handle first; the grip feels right from the first cut.

The Cardinal Knife - Cream - Sole Cookware

Our Blade is built to stay sharp: the steel, blade geometry, and the custom safety guard all protect the edge.

The Cardinal’s custom-fit design means you can safely store it in almost any drawer. Keep it assembled or separate the handle for narrow spaces, in a drawer or butcher block.

Frequently asked questions

What makes the Cardinal Knife worth the price?

The Cardinal is a patent-pending, IDA Design Award-winning chef's knife with a full-tang martensitic stainless steel blade, interchangeable handles, and a safety cover included. It was designed from the ground up by a professionally trained chef, not adapted from an existing production line. The price reflects original design, quality materials, and a commitment to buy once and maintain together. Subscribe to our email list for exclusive offers and early access to new releases.

What is the return policy for the Cardinal Knife?

Returns are accepted within 30 days, and if you need more time, just reach out. Repairs, Replacements and Sharpening always free. We want you to have the best possible knife. If it isn't ours, we understand and we'll even help you find the right one. Our founder tested over 50 knives before designing the Cardinal and would love to help you find your perfect match.

Performance Guarantee.

With proper use, your Cardinal will stay sharp for many years. When it dulls after extended use, we’ll make it right or replace it. Built around a patent-pending blade and handle system, it’s backed for the life of the product. A sharp knife is always one request away, for as long as you own the Cardinal.

How long does it take to have my knives sharpened?

As soon as your request comes in, we ship your replacement blade. It arrives with pre-made packaging so you can easily mail your old blade back for recycling.

How often should I sharpen my knives?

The Cardinal uses three points of connection working together, not magnets alone. The pinch guard seats onto the blade tang, the handle clicks onto the blade through a spring-loaded buckle pin that locks into a groove on the tang, and a male-female interface locks the handle to the pinch guard. Magnets provide alignment and additional retention. The spring keeps the buckle pin actively engaged, so the handle stays secure under the lateral and shear forces of real cooking.

Can you put the Cardinal chef's knife in the dishwasher?

Yes! The Cardinal is a dishwasher-safe chef's knife.

Where can I learn knife skills and care tips?

Our blog covers everything from basic knife techniques to cleaning and maintenance, written by our founder, a professionally trained chef https://www.solecookware.com/blogs/news

What is the blade check?

The blade check is a small magnetic disk that sticks to your fridge and helps you track your knife’s edge over time. It gives you three angle stages: 20, and 25 degrees.Your knife begins at 20 degrees. As it wears with real cooking, the edge progresses to 25 degrees. When it reaches past 25 degrees, or when it no longer feels sharp in use, it’s time to request a refresh.
