The Cardinal Knife - Cardinal Red
Description
The Cardinal Knife answers the question every home cook eventually asks: what is a chef knife used for? It is your go-to tool for chopping, slicing, dicing, and mincing, handling everything from delicate herbs to dense root vegetables with precision. Sharp enough to break down and butcher some meats, though for heavy butchering a dedicated cleaver will serve you better. And while the Cardinal can cut through bread in a pinch, a serrated knife is built for that job. A chef knife is your kitchen workhorse, and the Cardinal is designed to be the last one you will ever need.
Where most knives force you to compromise between performance and fit, the Cardinal was built for hands that standard knives have always overlooked. Its interchangeable handle system means the knife adapts to you, not the other way around. The ergonomic design promotes the pinch grip technique, which is the gold standard for control, safety, and reduced fatigue during longer prep sessions. And because it was designed with intention from blade to handle, it looks as good on your counter as it performs on your cutting board. This is the knife you buy once, display proudly, and reach for every single time.
Our aim is to reignite the passion for cooking among enthusiasts and make culinary endeavors accessible and approachable for newcomers.
Care
Your Cardinal Knife is dishwasher safe, but hand washing will keep the blade sharper longer. If using the dishwasher, place the knife with its safety guard on to protect the blade edge and prevent contact with other items. After any wash, dry the blade promptly to avoid water spots. To detach the handle, press the release and slide it off the blade. Handles can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Store the blade in its protective sheath or on a magnetic strip rather than loose in a drawer. With normal home use, the blade will hold its edge for months. When it's time to sharpen, use a ceramic honing rod or whetstone at a 20-degree angle per side. Avoid pull-through sharpeners, which remove too much steel and shorten the life of the blade.
